1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to deepinthe.space and its pages, interactive views, and downloadable resources. The site is an independent educational project published from Switzerland. By accessing the site, you agree to use it in accordance with these Terms and with applicable law.
2. Use of the site
You may view, read, and share links to the site for personal, educational, and non-commercial purposes. You may print pages for classroom use provided the source is credited and the material is not sold.
You may not:
- copy, republish, or redistribute substantial parts of the site as your own content;
- use automated tools to scrape the site in a way that burdens or disrupts it;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to servers, accounts, databases, or private messages;
- remove copyright, attribution, or source notices; or
- use the site or its name in a way that suggests endorsement without written permission.
Educational use by schools and libraries is welcome. If you would like to use material in a publication, course pack, or commercial product, contact us first.
3. Intellectual property
The original text, layout, code, and visual design of deepinthe.space are owned by the operator or used with permission and are protected by copyright and related rights. Third-party images, data, and papers remain the property of their respective owners and are credited on the Attributions & Credits page.
NASA imagery and data are generally not subject to copyright in the United States and are used with credit. Other third-party material may carry its own licence; those terms prevail for that material.
“deepinthe.space” and the site’s visual identity may not be used as a trademark, domain name, or branding without permission.
4. User conduct
When using the contact form or interacting with the project, you agree not to:
- send unlawful, harassing, hateful, or deliberately misleading content;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation;
- submit spam, bulk promotions, malware, or automated form submissions;
- share another person’s private information without their consent; or
- interfere with the site’s security or availability.
We may remove messages, block access, or report abuse where necessary to protect the site and its users.
5. Third-party links and content
The site links to NASA, research journals, and other external resources. Those sites are not under our control, and their content, availability, and privacy practices are their own responsibility. A link does not imply endorsement.
6. Availability and changes
The site is provided on an “as available” basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of it, including experimental visualisations or data feeds, without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every external data source will remain available.
7. Educational disclaimer
The content is provided for general information and education only. It is not professional astronomical, engineering, medical, legal, or financial advice. See the full Educational Disclaimer.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the site. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
You are responsible for how you use the information on the site and for verifying it against primary sources where accuracy matters.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the project evolves. The date at the top shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Subject to mandatory consumer-protection rules, the ordinary courts at the publisher’s seat in Switzerland have jurisdiction. Those rules may give you the right to bring proceedings, or to be sued, in your own place of residence.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
11. Contact
